Office of Academic Research
The Office of Academic Research (OAR) was established in 2024 to champion and catalyze academic research, scholarship and creative activity. The inaugural Vice President for Academic Research, Dr. Samantha Langley-Turnbaugh, began her work in September 2024, to provide strategic guidance and operational support to meet the needs of faculty, staff and students engaged in scholarly pursuits.
OAR provides leadership in developing a vision and goals for research, especially interdisciplinary and entrepreneurial work that addresses the needs of the community. Our office is committed to ensuring compliance with federal, state and university regulations and promoting a research culture grounded in ethical standards. We promote and assist intellectual property and technology transfer, and actively engage with community partners to increase synergies between UD’s academic research enterprise and UD’s partners.
